The project consisted of remodeling the existing eighth floor of the Legal Services Building for the Pima County Legal Defenders Office, and also included upgrades to the elevators and adding a fire pump in the building basement. The project encountered existing asbestos, which was abated prior to construction. The work was done within a tight construction budget and time frame, and did not impact the operations of any of the adjacent tenants. WSM Architects also provided Construction Administration services as required to keep the project on time and on budget, by timely review of submittals, weekly progress meetings, working with the tenants and addressing field issues promptly. This effort allowed the building to come in significantly under budget.
